Product Description
Saracen ‘s High Fibre-Light Chaff is a blend of 100 percent natural alfalfa fiber and soft meadow grass and is a low-calorie forage perfect for horses and ponies in light activity.
Saracen High Fibre-Light Chaff can be used as a full or partial replacement for hay and is low in sugar and starch; it is suitable for horses on a low-calorie diet or prone to laminitis.
Saracen High Fibre-Light Chaff is molasses-free and is composed of non-GM English alfalfa and meadow grass with a light coating of canola oil. It is dried at high temperature and de-dusted; these processes make Saracen High Fibre-Light Chaff a suitable product even for horses and ponies with respiratory problems.
Saracen High Fibre-Light contains no preservatives, dyes or additives.
Alfalfa provides good quality nutrients, is low in sugar and starch, and provides natural antioxidants. Alfalfa is also rich in calcium, which supports bone development and hoof quality and provides a natural acid buffer. The quality protein contained in alfalfa provides support for physical fitness without exaggerating excitability.
Slow feeding related to forage increases chewing time and subsequent salivation (natural acid buffer); this promotes digestive health.
