Breeders Blend is a 100% natural dietary supplement specially formulated for mares and their foals, based on the algae Ascophyllum nodusum and Lithothamnium, which provides a balanced formula of vitamins and minerals for complete support of the mare and her natural embryonic development.
The seaweed Ascophyllum nodosum comes from the cold shores of the North Atlantic Ocean; hand-harvested using traditional and sustainable methods, it has been used for centuries as a natural food supplement precisely because of its low iodine content and high concentration of vitamins, minerals and amino acids. It consists of 48 elements, 16 amino acids and 11 vitamins.
Lithothamnium calcareum is, however, a red alga belonging to the Corallinaceae family. It grows very slowly to have time to filter and absorb large amounts of marine nutrients. Lithothamnium provides a wide variety of minerals, including 32 trace elements.
This naturally balanced mix of chelated minerals, vitamins, amino acids, and antioxidants promotes optimal intestinal and immune health, as well as an overall state of physical well-being in the horse. The levels of flaxseed oil in Breeders Blend provide a valuable source of ALA, a long-chain essential fatty acid that is a precursor to eicosanoids such as EPA and DHA, which play a crucial role in embryonic development and the quality of milk produced by mares.
